Happy Easter again. Julianna just went to sleep. We had a pretty good day. A couple of rough spots, but better. As we have said several times, she will not take the formula. So we went in search of rice milk or soy milk, since she gets both in the formula and should be able to drink them without difficulty. We lucked out with the boxes--they have both English and Chinese on them. She absolutely loves it. We got three flavors, just in case one did not work, but she does not seem to care. So if someone wants to stock us up on soy milk, we would be thrilled.

One of the things that has intrigued me about Guangzhou is that most of the signs are in both Chinese and English. The English, however, tends to be a literal translation, which does not always make sense. This is from the zoo...

So the next time you are at the zoo, remember, shaken, not stirred...

Happy Easter you guys! Thank you so much for documenting your adoption journey. I have enjoyed being able to check in on each step and shoot a little prayer your way.

God Bless this new family that you have.

+phil, keep your chin up. It sounds like Julianna will slowly but surely be running up to you and giving you hugs and smiles soon. :)

Happy Easter to the Meadows family!
As I type this email on Easter Sunday at 11:45am it is 12:45am Monday morning and you are in bed. Wanted to let you guys know that we had a great Easter service at church with a huge crowd. Sherry and Phil, everyone one asked about you guys and wanted me to tell you that they were praying for you and Julianna. You have a church that loves and supports you. Of course, I don't need to tell you that, you should already know that.

Miss you guys
Steve

Happy Easter to you all! We went to church at Sahnnon and Rachel's church and had lunch witht them and with Richard and Pat.

Paw Paw and I went to Food World and they have soy milk in vanilla, very vanilla, plain and chocolate. Will check at Wal-Mart as well. I am sure I will be going to Wal-Mart sometime this week. Will wait until closer to time for you to come home before I buy some. It won't be very long now until time for you to come home. We can hardly wait.

Love, Mom

Yay!! She likes Soy! That means I won't have to pack ours in the cooler when Emma comes to vist :o) She couldn't/can't drink milk. It gives her a HORRENDOUS tummy ache, complete with vomitus eruptus & yuck diapers.
I recommend the regular vanilla flavor personally. You can get it at any supermarket or Wal-mart or Super Target. I also suggest buying the 2-for-1 pack. It'll save you a trip to the store mid-week & it lasts much longer than regular milk.

To answer your question, Philip, you get snot out of a nostril the same way you'd get it out of your own, squeeze (gently of course) with a moistened tissue - NOT a baby wipe (unless it's alcohol-free). The alcohol in a baby wipe could dry her little sniffer out good. Then you'd be in a pickle!

Sounds like things are going quite normally for you. Can't wait to see you Saturday.

BTW, did you try singing to her? Did it help? What is your calming method that works for her?

love & miss you,
Mary
